By and large, my practice usually takes form through sculpture, video, drawing, and installation. My projects were initially motivated by an interest in individual memory. However, there has been a shift at the heart of my practice recently, and I have begun broadening the scope of my art to interact large groups of people. Engaging with memory on the level of complex dynamical systems—the collective functioning of ‘social memory’—has proved an interesting avenue for exploring the embodied and embedded nature of consciousness.
